Military Analyst Calls Left-Wing 'Zionist Government' Campaign a Deceptive Ploy

Military analyst Noam Amir criticized the left-wing political campaign promising to form a "Zionist government," calling it a deceptive bluff aimed at legitimizing a coalition supported by the Ra'am party. In an interview on the 'Sheva' program on Tuesday, Amir argued that the campaign manipulates the concept of Zionism to justify cooperation with Mansour Abbas and his Arab party.

Amir explained that the left-wing bloc claims to be Zionist because it has a majority of Zionist members, except for four non-Zionist MKs, unlike the right-wing bloc which includes ultra-Orthodox parties that are not considered Zionist. He said the left-wing uses the term "Zionism" loosely to contrast themselves with the right-wing, which includes the ultra-Orthodox, and to present their coalition as having a Zionist majority.

He emphasized that this rhetoric is intended to whitewash the alliance with Mansour Abbas, either from within or outside the coalition, by pitting ultra-Orthodox parties against Arab parties. Amir concluded that the left-wing's promise of a Zionist government is ultimately a political maneuver to gain public approval despite the controversial coalition partners.
