Israir to Begin Selling US Flight Tickets Next Week Pending FAA Approval
Israir announced on Tuesday that it will start selling tickets for flights to the United States beginning next week, following approval from the US Department of Transportation. The timing may be linked to the upcoming US elections on October 27, potentially targeting voters traveling from the US. Although the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is still reviewing and has not yet granted final approval for Israir to operate flights to the US, the airline plans to sell tickets for departures starting October 19. If the FAA approves earlier flights to New York, Israir intends to commence operations and ticket sales immediately. Israir stated it is in continuous contact with the FAA and cooperating fully, expecting the approval process to conclude soon. Earlier this month, Israir had announced plans to launch direct flights to New York around September. Israeli consumers hope that alongside Israir's new flights, major US carriers such as United and Delta will resume service, offering round-trip tickets to New York for under $1,000.
