Israeli Reservist Seriously Wounded in Lebanon Returns Home After Three Months

Boaz Seluk, a 55-year-old Israeli reservist severely injured by an explosive drone in southern Lebanon, returned home to Kochav Hashachar after three months of hospitalization and rehabilitation. Residents of the settlement warmly welcomed him with Israeli flags, songs, and embraces. Seluk was hospitalized at Rambam Medical Center and later rehabilitated in Jerusalem before visiting his home for the first time since the injury.

In a recent interview with Channel 7 from his hospital bed, Seluk recounted the attack, explaining that the drone targeted him directly, moving like a cobra in the air. He described how he fired at the drone to divert it, reducing the damage when it exploded near him. He sustained multiple injuries and required ten blood transfusions. Seluk credited a ceramic vest, purchased through donations by his unit commander, with saving his life by preventing shrapnel from reaching vital organs.

Seluk’s quick thinking and protective gear were crucial in mitigating the severity of his wounds during the combat operation in southern Lebanon. His return marks a significant moment for the community and highlights the dangers faced by Israeli forces in the region.
