Transport Minister Miri Regev Accuses El Al Union of Sabotaging Her Over Wizz Air Deal

Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev accused the El Al airline union of trying to undermine her position in the Likud party primaries due to her efforts to introduce the low-cost carrier Wizz Air to Israel. Speaking outside a polling station on Monday, Regev claimed the union decided to remove her from the party list as retaliation for her decision to bring Wizz Air into the Israeli market. She stated, "Anyone who tells you 'Miri Regev is strong' actually wants to weaken me." Despite the opposition, Regev affirmed her commitment to lowering flight prices, saying, "I said I would reduce the cost of flights, and that is what will happen." She emphasized that no union would intimidate or blackmail her, asserting that the interests of Israeli citizens are paramount.
