Israeli Knesset Deputy Speaker Simon Davidson Reveals Dream to Become Sports Minister

In a personal interview as part of the "Maskhaki Elections" project by "HaOlam HaBoker," Knesset Deputy Speaker Simon Davidson of the Yesh Atid party opened up about his life beyond politics. During a visit to a swimming pool, Davidson shared that sports and physical activity are not just hobbies for him but a way of life and a social vision. He recounted his political journey, noting that although he grew up in the Likud party, he has been aligned with Yair Lapid since 2011.

Davidson also spoke candidly about the toll of intense political work, admitting that while he used to be very happy, the past four years have been challenging financially, socially, and personally. He reflected on his upbringing as the son of Soviet immigrant parents, emphasizing the importance of discipline and education instilled by his mother, a doctor who helped many.

When asked about personal preferences, Davidson mentioned his favorite music genre is dance house, his preferred foods include couscous and mafrum, and his childhood nickname was "Mochachka." He concluded the interview by expressing a clear ambition: "I am dying to be Israel's Minister of Sports. I believe I can make a difference."
