Police Enter Yeshiva During Lunch Break in Search for Missing Teen

Police entered the Or Yisrael yeshiva in the Gani Hadar neighborhood of Petah Tikva during the lunch break on Wednesday, in an incident that heightened fears among students about sudden arrests. According to information cited by Behadrei Haredim, officers first tried to stop students who had left the yeshiva to buy something at a nearby store.

When the students returned, police followed them inside the yeshiva grounds in pursuit of the boys, but left empty-handed. Seven officers, including female officers, entered the study hall and dormitories, chased anyone nearby and tried to catch anyone who moved, the report said.

Police detained one boy who resisted, but he managed to escape. Local activist Yaron Kedoshim said police were looking for a 15-year-old missing minor whose life was considered at high risk after his phone was tracked to the yeshiva area. Once it was determined that he was not there, the officers left the site.
