Energy Minister Eli Cohen Votes in Likud Primaries, Aims for Top Three Finish
Energy and Infrastructure Minister Eli Cohen cast his vote at the Likud primaries held at the Binyanei HaUma convention center in Jerusalem. Cohen expressed his hope to secure a position among the top three candidates, as he did in the previous elections. He described the event as a "celebration of democracy" and emphasized the unity it brings to the Likud party, noting the absence of a central committee controlling the process and the importance of holding open elections.
Cohen highlighted the significance of the upcoming campaign starting on October 27, when approximately 140,000 eligible Likud voters will participate in the primaries. He reaffirmed his belief in the wisdom of the party's grassroots members over the central committee, stating that 75% of Likud's elected representatives will be chosen by the voters on this day.
