Yonatan Urich mocks Ronen Tzur's move to Yair Golan's party
On Sunday evening, Yonatan Urich, an adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, commented sarcastically on Ronen Tzur's decision to join the Democrats party. Urich wrote that it was a “not easy evening” for him, joking that he had once been the first to promote Tzur for prime minister, and even did so “voluntarily and willingly” because he believed Tzur was fit for the role.
Urich said he had also tolerated, in his words, Tzur's lack of cooperation, including not holding home meetings and not staying on message, but that he still believed in him. He then claimed that, without prior consultation, Tzur had announced he was giving up that race and choosing instead to run as a Knesset candidate for Yair Golan.
Urich concluded that “the people of Israel lost,” but added that “our hope has not yet been lost,” wishing Tzur success going forward. Tzur responded with a counter-sarcastic remark: “It really is a not easy evening for you, and it will soon be even less easy.”
