Coalition Chair Ofir Katz Vows to Push Judicial Reform Fully After Elections

Ofir Katz, chairman of the coalition, stated in a podcast interview with ynet that the government had been too cautious with the judicial reform efforts so far but intends to pursue them fully after the upcoming elections. Speaking on the "120 and One" program, Katz also addressed criticism regarding the number of reserved seats allocated to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasizing that the selection was democratic and decided by the party's central committee. He asserted, "With all due respect to the MKs who want different things, if not for Netanyahu, neither you nor I would be members of the Knesset." Katz further condemned a plan to oust Netanyahu following the events of October 7, which was revealed in an interview with former Likud member Dan Iluz. He described the attempt as "a disgrace and shame," adding that those close to Netanyahu were aware of it.
