Eli Albag Criticizes Israeli Gaza Policy, Calls Netanyahu 'Trump's Agent'

Eli Albag, father of former Israeli captive and observer Liri Albag, sharply criticized Israel's Gaza policy in a 103fm interview following a report on observers in the Gaza border area. He described Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as merely "Trump's agent," implying Netanyahu is executing policies dictated by others. Albag questioned the government's tolerance toward militants, citing his daughter's statement that "there are two and a half million militants" in Gaza and expressing skepticism about any prospects for peace.

Drawing from his personal experience with his daughter, Albag highlighted the psychological scars endured by former captives, urging the public to show sensitivity toward their struggles. He noted that returned captives often feel guilt and sorrow for those still held captive, emphasizing that many have not yet been freed.

Journalist Almog Boker added that there is a significant disconnect between the political leadership's directives and the realities on the ground. He pointed out a shift in official messaging from "removing the threat" to "immediate threat removal" after a recent agreement, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
