Mali and Liel Yahalami Found Healthy After 902 Days, Family Demands Shin Bet Take Over Haimnot Case

Mali and Liel Yahalami were located in good health as they were reportedly en route to Bolivia, bringing relief after days of searching. However, their discovery has painfully highlighted the ongoing disappearance of Haimnot Kasao, who has been missing for 902 days. Her parents, Benji and Taspia Kasao, expressed mixed emotions, stating, "We received the joyful news about Mali and Liel’s safe recovery, but our own story remains unresolved. Our youngest daughter has been missing for 902 days."

The Kasao family criticized the police for what they see as a stark contrast in the handling of the two cases. They emphasized that Haimnot, who was nine when she disappeared, did not choose to vanish and accused authorities of not doing everything possible to find her. They pointed out that while the Israel Police, under Major General Danny Levi, deployed extensive resources to locate Mali and Liel, similar efforts were not made for Haimnot.

The parents also condemned the investigation management, noting that the Lahav 433 unit conducted a global search for Mali and Liel but failed to keep the family adequately informed. Due to these frustrations, the Kasao family is demanding that the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) take over the investigation into Haimnot’s abduction, hoping this will lead to a breakthrough in the unresolved case.

In their closing remarks, the family appealed to the Israeli public for continued support and to help amplify their call for justice, thanking those who have expressed outrage over the perceived unequal treatment and urging them to remain united in their efforts to find Haimnot.
