Toddler Suffers Moderate Burns from Hot Water Heater in Haredi Home in Rekhasim
On Saturday morning, emergency medical teams from United Hatzalah were called to a home in Rekhasim following an incident where a toddler, approximately two years old, sustained burns to his upper body from hot water. The child was reportedly burned by water from a Shabbat hot water urn (miyacham) in the household. First responders provided initial medical care before transferring the child to Rambam Hospital for further treatment. His condition is currently classified as moderate.
United Hatzalah's Shabbat medical team emphasized the importance of safety precautions to prevent such accidents. They advised placing hot water urns or electric kettles out of reach of children and ensuring that power cords are inaccessible to toddlers. The organization called on families to adhere strictly to these safety measures to avoid similar injuries in the future.
