Raviv Drucker Challenges Israeli Claim That Hezbollah Broke Ceasefire in South Lebanon Clash

Israeli journalist Raviv Drucker publicly questioned the official Israeli narrative that Hezbollah violated the ceasefire in a recent violent incident in southern Lebanon. The incident occurred early Saturday morning near the Ali Taher ridge, where a Hezbollah-launched explosive drone struck an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) unit, seriously injuring an officer and two soldiers. The injured were evacuated to Israel for medical treatment.

Drucker argued that the event should be viewed in the context of ongoing IDF operations targeting Hezbollah militants in the area. He noted that Israel’s military actions in the Ali Taher ridge aimed to eliminate Hezbollah operatives, which Hezbollah perceived as a breach of the ceasefire, prompting their drone attack. While not disputing the legitimacy of Israel’s military operations, Drucker criticized the framing of the incident, emphasizing that Israeli leadership was aware such actions could provoke Hezbollah responses.

Following the attack, the IDF retaliated with strikes on multiple Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, including infrastructure near Nabatiyeh and the group’s headquarters in Ansar. The strikes also killed Ali Samir al-Hajj Hassan, a battalion commander in Hezbollah’s Radwan Force. The Prime Minister’s office maintained that Hezbollah was responsible for breaking the ceasefire by attacking Israeli soldiers in the security zone.

The IDF has warned northern Israeli residents to prepare for potential further attacks from southern Lebanon amid escalating tensions. The incident and subsequent military responses underscore the fragile security situation along the Israel-Lebanon border and the ongoing conflict dynamics between Israel and Hezbollah.
