Israeli Gymnastics Team Places 17th at European Championships in Zagreb

The Israeli gymnastics team concluded the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, ranking 17th out of 32 teams with a total score of 146.630 points. In the individual all-around competition, Leah Raz from AS Ramat Hasharon finished 32nd among 93 competitors, scoring 48.966 points. Her event scores included 12.600 in vault, 11.466 in uneven bars, 12.600 in balance beam, and 12.300 in floor exercise. Raz is coached by Mia Shani Goldberg, who also serves as the national team coach.

Roni Shamai of Bnei Herzliya also competed in the all-around, finishing with 47.732 points under the guidance of coach Roni Rabinovitch. The senior team members include Yehali Shoshani (Bnei Herzliya), coached by Rabinovitch; Tamar Brotfeld (Maccabi Kiryat Ono), coached by Nofar Amir; and Almog Leyzerovitch (AS Ramat Hasharon), coached by Shani Goldberg.

The Israeli junior team competed in the qualifiers, which also served as the final ranking for the all-around and team competitions, finishing eighth out of 26 teams. Junior gymnast Ofir Shmueli (AS Ramat Hasharon), coached by Andy Turisky, placed 10th in the all-around with 49.099 points, while Mika Grimberg (Maccabi Kiryat Ono), coached by Nofar Amir, finished 14th among 84 gymnasts.

The youth team included Lili Torres (Hapoel Tel Aviv), coached by Naama Kaplan Hai; Uri Reis (Ironi Netanya), coached by Tami Kovetz; and Ilayil Frenkel (Gilgulim), coached by Ein Mirkin. Judges Danit Sade and Tami Kovetz officiated the competition, with physiotherapist Sagi Motas and delegation head Sheli Mamtayahu supporting the team.

Avi Sagie, chairman of the Israeli Gymnastics Association, stated, "The European Championships are an important professional test for our teams, allowing us to assess our work and the path ahead. The junior team showed a strong group achievement, with two gymnasts ranking among the top 14 in the all-around, indicating depth and a promising young generation developing in the sport.
