The Israeli government announced on Friday that continued funding for ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) educational institutions will be contingent upon strict compliance with several fundamental obligations. This decision was communicated in response to a petition concerning the financing of core curriculum studies in Haredi school networks. According to the State Attorney's office, data from the Ministry of Education reveals significant gaps in these institutions' fulfillment of the full core curriculum requirements.

The government highlighted deficiencies in oversight and enforcement capabilities regarding these obligations. Consequently, schools wishing to maintain funding under the "Equal Funding for All Israeli Children" principle must fully implement the official core curriculum, employ properly qualified teaching staff, participate in assessment and evaluation frameworks, cooperate with supervisory and enforcement bodies, and meet all reporting requirements.

Importantly, these conditions will take effect immediately in the current academic year, not deferred to the future.
