Threats Against Avigdor Lieberman and Family Intensify Amid Political Tensions

Avigdor Lieberman, chairman of the Israel Beiteinu party, and his family have been targeted in a growing wave of severe online threats, including death wishes and calls for physical harm. These hostile messages, which have escalated over the past month, include explicit threats such as "a bullet to the son’s head" and wishes for Lieberman and his wife to suffer and die painfully. Some comments also compare Lieberman to Hitler, despite no factual basis for such claims.

Israel Beiteinu officials report that dozens of these threats have been documented recently and forwarded to law enforcement for investigation. Some threatening posts appear to originate from accounts claiming to support the Likud party, though their authenticity and any organizational links remain unverified. The party emphasized it will not be intimidated or silenced by violence or incitement.

This surge follows earlier threats received in recent months, including a September 2025 police complaint by Lieberman after a message threatened execution of "Russian spies" naming him first. Another complaint was filed after messages labeling him a "Nazi" and calling for his destruction. The current wave represents a notable escalation in both volume and severity, with no arrests or criminal investigations publicly announced yet. Authorities are reviewing the materials to determine if criminal charges are warranted.
