Isaac Carmeli Navigates Mavibama Swamp Without Compass on Journey to Lost Tribes

Isaac Carmeli continues documenting his expedition to the land of the gorillas and the search for the Ten Lost Tribes. He describes his return journey passing once again through the Mavibama swamp. Despite having no compass or GPS, Carmeli, nicknamed "the sailor," impressively navigates the swamp's paths as if they were the palm of his hand.

Carmeli highlights the swamp's dominant and beautiful plant, the lotus (noper), noting that although its name sounds distinctly Hebrew, it actually originates from ancient Persian. Locals use the lotus as a remedy for diabetes and other chronic illnesses, and even produce wine from it.

He also raises a halachic (Jewish legal) question regarding the lotus, a water plant, and whether it is considered ground (land) according to Jewish law.
