For example, activists have previously joined joint protests under slogans like "climate justice means freeing Palestine," while groups such as Code Pink have campaigned against technological projects.

Central to the American investigations is billionaire Nabil Roy Singham, who resides in Shanghai and is suspected of funneling funds through a network of shell companies and funding bodies to ideological left-wing organizations. These organizations link funders with key protest coalition organizers. Western security and government officials are concerned not only about local street protests but also about the rapid coordination and shared networks that serve broader geopolitical goals described as cognitive warfare.
