New crowd limits could affect Maccabi Tel Aviv-Hapoel Tel Aviv finals opener
Israel is preparing for a possible Iranian response after a Hezbollah-related Israeli airstrike in Lebanon on Sunday, and the Home Front Command announced new nationwide limits on gatherings that may affect the first game of the Israeli Basketball Premier League playoff final series between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv on Tuesday.
The restrictions cap public gatherings across the country at 5,000 people. They are currently set to remain in force only until Monday at 20:00.
If the measures are lifted and not extended, the game can go ahead as scheduled with a full arena. If the restrictions are prolonged, the opener will have to be played with a reduced crowd.
