Likud Primary Candidate Erez Tadmor Criticizes Former IDF Chief Gadi Eisenkot as Security Risk

Erez Tadmor, a candidate in the upcoming Likud primaries, sharply criticized former IDF Chief of Staff and former security cabinet member Gadi Eisenkot in a radio interview on Galei Yisrael. Tadmor accused Eisenkot of being dangerous to Israel's security, citing Eisenkot's "doctrine" that Israel cannot prevent Middle Eastern countries from acquiring nuclear weapons and must learn to live with them. Tadmor described this stance as defeatist and argued that Israel should fight vigorously to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear arms.

Tadmor also condemned Eisenkot's conduct during the war cabinet meetings in the months following the October 7 massacre, alleging that Eisenkot and Benny Gantz pushed for surrendering to Hamas's demands. Tadmor stated, "Two to three months after the October mourning period, Eisenkot already wanted to surrender."

Concluding his remarks, Tadmor questioned Eisenkot's suitability for prime minister despite his military experience, warning that Eisenkot's worldview is dangerous and that his military background does not automatically qualify him for the premiership. Tadmor's comments come amid heightened political tensions within the Likud party ahead of the primaries.
