Zikim Beach Fully Reopens After October 7 Hamas Attack with Major Renovations

Zikim Beach, severely damaged during the Hamas attack on October 7, has fully reopened to the public for the first summer season since the tragedy. The beach underwent extensive rehabilitation costing approximately 20 million shekels, funded by the Tikuma Administration, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. Renovations included new restrooms and changing facilities, paved access roads, organized parking lots, energy-efficient lighting, and improved accessibility from the parking area to shaded areas and restrooms.

For local residents, the reopening represents more than infrastructure renewal; it symbolizes resilience and the community's commitment to life and growth despite the trauma. Hof Ashkelon Regional Council head Itamar Revivo described the reopening as a "victory of the spirit" and "the strongest Zionist response," honoring the memory of those lost in the attack while embracing life and recovery.
