Likud Members Favor Almog Cohen and Yosef Hadad for Party List Reserved Seats

A recent survey conducted by Dr. Nimrod Nir from the Agam Institute and published on Tuesday examined which individuals Likud party members and voters would prefer to receive reserved spots on the party’s candidate list for the upcoming elections. Participants were asked to rank eight personalities they wished to see granted these reserved seats, revealing differences between the preferences of registered party members and general voters.

Among Likud members, Deputy Minister Almog Cohen led with 39.3% support, followed by activist Yosef Hadad at 35.9%, and both lawyer David Petel and diplomat Ron Dermer at 31.1%. Military figures also featured prominently, including retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter with 29.3% and Gil Hirsch, former coordinator for prisoners and missing persons, at 28.9%. Other notable names included Amir Avivi, founder of the Security Movement, and media personalities such as Kinneret Braschi (26.7%) and Erez Tadmor (21.1%). Politician Gideon Sa’ar received only 13.2% among members despite reportedly securing a reserved seat.

Among Likud voters, Yosef Hadad topped the list with 44.3%, followed by commentator Amit Segal at 33%, who had only 11.4% among members. Military figures like Ofer Winter (30.4%) and Gil Hirsch also appeared, alongside former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen and Amir Avivi. Media figures such as Yinon Magal (22%) and others from Channel 14 were selected, while political figures had a stronger presence, including Dedi Simchi (22.5%), Almog Cohen (22%), Ayelet Shaked, Ron Dermer, and Moshe Kahlon. Former footballer Eli Ohana appeared with 13.4% support.

The survey highlights a divergence between the preferences of Likud’s registered members and its broader voter base regarding who should be granted reserved spots on the party list. It remains to be seen how Prime Minister Netanyahu’s actual allocations will align with these preferences.
