Court Rejects Democrats' Lawsuit Over AI Video by Minister Karei
The Democrats party, led by MK Yair Golan, filed a lawsuit against Minister Shlomo Karei over an AI-generated video he published, claiming it was not properly labeled as AI content in violation of election laws. The case was dismissed by Judge Solberg, who ruled that the claims lacked merit and ordered the plaintiffs to pay 5,000 shekels in legal costs to the state treasury. The party had also raised the issue with the Elections Committee, but the court found no grounds to proceed. Judge Solberg referenced a recent similar dismissal of a case concerning election law violations, reinforcing the court's stance on such matters. Minister Karei dismissed the complaint as a "frivolous claim," marking a clear legal victory for him. The ruling was revealed during a live broadcast on Channel 14's "Open Studio" program on Tuesday.
