LinkedIn Cuts Dozens of Jobs in Tel Aviv Office Amid Global Restructuring

LinkedIn is reducing its operations at its Tel Aviv office located in the Alon Towers, resulting in the expected layoff of dozens of employees. Despite these cuts, the company emphasized that the Tel Aviv office will remain operational and continue to employ staff in Israel. The main impact is expected at the development center in Alon Towers, where about 50 employees currently work, with only a small team remaining to handle local business activities.

LinkedIn, owned by Microsoft, occupies an entire floor of approximately 1,400 square meters on the 34th floor of the Alon Tower under a five-year lease with an option to extend. The office was first established about two years ago. Previously, LinkedIn operated in Israel through representatives sent to Ireland but expanded its local presence after acquiring the Israeli startup Oribi in early 2022 for around $85 million. This acquisition involved laying off 20 of Oribi's 60 employees.

In May, LinkedIn implemented a global reduction of about 5% of its workforce, cutting around 800 jobs mainly among middle management, AI tool integration teams, and user interface staff as part of a broader effort to streamline and consolidate operations. LinkedIn stated that these organizational changes are intended to better position the company for future success by focusing teams and business efforts on areas with the greatest impact for partners and customers.
