Israeli Basketball Prospect David Mozes Chooses Florida Atlantic College Over Israeli Pro Teams

David Mozes, a rising star in Israeli basketball, is set to join Florida Atlantic University to continue his development rather than playing professionally in Israel. After representing Israel's under-18 national team at the European Championship and delivering a strong season in the national league, Mozes explained in a recent interview with Sport 5 that he prefers college basketball in the US to sitting on the bench for an Israeli pro team like Hapoel Tel Aviv. He emphasized that the college environment offers better facilities and more playing time, which are crucial for his growth as a player.

Mozes reflected on his past year, noting the excellent support he received in Herzliya and the personal training that helped him improve, especially since he often trained separately from youth teams and focused on individual workouts. He acknowledged his hard work and understanding of his strengths and weaknesses, describing himself as a versatile player who is longer and faster than typical centers.

Regarding his college choice, Mozes mentioned that while he had offers from bigger programs, he prioritized playing time and development opportunities. He aims to be a significant contributor in his first college season. He also cited NBA players Nikola Jokic and Kevin Durant as role models and expressed confidence in his potential to reach the NBA. Mozes expects to remain with the Israeli national team for another year or two before fully pursuing his professional career abroad.
