Israeli Equestrian Team Prepares for World Championship in Aachen Ahead of 2028 Olympics

The 2026 World Equestrian Championships will begin on August 10 in Aachen, Germany, running through August 23. This prestigious event, held every four years by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), features top riders and horses competing in six disciplines: Jumping, Dressage, Eventing, Para Dressage, Driving, and Vaulting. For Israel, the championship is a critical step toward qualifying for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

The Israeli delegation includes two pairs in Dressage and five pairs in Jumping. The Dressage team is led by Chef d’Equipe Christoph Umbach, while the Jumping team is coached by former Olympic champion Jaron Dubladam and Chef d’Equipe Hans Horn. Dr. Amichai Alperovitz serves as the sports director and head of the delegation.

In Dressage, Maika Deligadish, who recently returned to competition after nearly two years off following the birth of her second child, will compete with her horse Carpe Diem De Massa. Deligadish has participated in 12 international events this year, building a strong partnership with her horse. In Jumping, Daniel Bluman, ranked sixth globally before the championship, will compete with Corbie V.V. Bluman, a Colombian-born rider who previously represented Colombia in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, has been a key figure in Israel’s Jumping team, including at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Other Jumping team members include Mark Bluman, who joined the Israeli team in June and will ride Landon De Nais, and Robin Mohr, a Monaco-born rider with a strong family equestrian background, competing with Fudgeau De Chatel. Teodor Boris, considered a leading rider of Israel’s next generation, will compete with Kazan Z. Reserve rider Izabela Roskopf and her horse C Pier 2 will also be part of the team, ready to step in if needed.

The Israeli Jumping team aims to finish among the top seven teams (excluding host USA) to secure an Olympic team quota for Los Angeles 2028. Even if they do not qualify at the World Championships, Israel will have another chance at the regional qualification event next year, following a path similar to their successful qualifications for Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024.
