Israel Joins European Call for Clean Energy Research Collaboration

Israel's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has announced its participation in the international call for proposals by the Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP), supported under the Horizon Europe program. This initiative aims to accelerate the development and implementation of technologies that promote the transition to a clean energy economy and achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Israeli researchers, academic institutions, companies, and research bodies are invited to submit proposals for international projects in various clean energy fields.

The projects require collaboration among at least three research entities from different countries, with a minimum of two partners from European or associated countries. Israel will participate in all research tracks of the call, with funding provided through the Ministry's Chief Scientist Unit in accordance with its research and development policies and the call's conditions.

Research areas include renewable energy, energy storage, smart electricity grids, electricity system flexibility, hydrogen and advanced fuels, sustainable heating and cooling, energy efficiency, integrated energy systems, and other clean energy technologies. The deadline for submitting preliminary proposals is October 8, 2026.
