Education Minister Yoav Kish Attempts to Remove Head of Israel's National Testing Authority

Following controversy over Israel's low student scores in science and mathematics, Education Minister Yoav Kish sought to dismiss the director of the National Authority for Measurement and Evaluation in Education (Ram'a), which oversees the exams. Kish recently took several steps aimed at weakening the authority, including requesting State Service Commissioner Doron Cohen to initiate a disciplinary investigation against Ram'a's director to remove him from office. This move is part of a sharp conflict between Kish and the authority's leadership. The Education Ministry stated it would not comment on the proceedings conducted by the State Service Commissioner.
