Hapoel Tel Aviv Offers Yam Madar a $8 Million Extension
Hapoel Tel Aviv has offered guard Yam Madar a new three-year deal worth $8 million, about two years after he signed a major contract with the club. The 25-year-old is unhappy with his role after seeing limited EuroLeague minutes this season and is weighing whether to stay.
Madar also has interest from Hapoel Jerusalem, which wants to strengthen its backcourt. His decision is not only about money, because he has an exit clause for the coming summer and says his future depends heavily on the team’s guard rotation.
At present, Chris Jones is expected to leave for Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, and if Hapoel signs a high-level replacement, Madar’s playing time next season could be a decisive factor. After the EuroLeague season ended and in the absence of Elijah Bryant, Madar became one of Dimitris Itoudis’ key players despite a difficult professional and mental stretch.
Over nearly 30 minutes a game, he averaged 19.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Madar returned to Hapoel Tel Aviv in November 2024, when he signed a two-and-a-half-year contract worth $3.3 million.
