Former Israeli League Player Trel Brown Jr. Signs with Utah Jazz in NBA

Two players who competed in Israel's Premier League basketball last season have recently signed NBA contracts. Following Lonnie Walker's move from Maccabi Tel Aviv to the Denver Nuggets, Trel Brown Jr., who finished last season with Maccabi Ramat Gan, has signed a contract with the Utah Jazz. The deal is reportedly non-guaranteed, and Brown Jr. will aim to secure a spot on the Jazz's final roster.

Brown Jr., 28, stands 1.85 meters tall and played college basketball for two years at the University of Seattle, earning first-team honors in the WAC conference. He then spent a season at Arizona and another at Washington, where he was named to the Pac-12 first team. Professionally, he began with the Memphis Hustle in the NBA G League, later joining the Greensboro Swarm and winning the G League championship this season. He also competed in summer leagues in Mexico and Puerto Rico.

After the Israeli Premier League season ended, Ramat Gan sought players to replace foreign athletes who left Israel due to the war. Brown Jr. joined for eight games, averaging 18.1 points, 5.6 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. Recently, he led his team, Davis Steel, to victory in the TBT tournament, securing $2 million, and hit a crucial three-pointer in the semifinals.

His signing with the Utah Jazz marks another step in his career as he attempts to break into the NBA following his strong performances in Israel and summer tournaments.
