Knicks Celebrate Title With Viral 'Who Let the Dogs Out' Singalong
The New York Knicks won their first NBA championship in 53 years, beating the San Antonio Spurs 94-90 on Monday morning and clinching the Finals 4-1. The celebration came after a long title drought for the team from New York.
Just before the trophy presentation, head coach Mike Brown was interviewed on stage and started singing "Who Let the Dogs Out". Players behind him joined in, turning the moment into a viral clip that spread quickly online.
The explanation for the scene goes back to a pre-Finals press conference, where Brown had already begun singing the same song. He said he used it when coaching a children’s flag football team. "We had to get the parents of the kids excited before and after every game," he said. "We wanted to get them involved, and that is what we did for that."
