Galit Gutman and Ilanit Levy Host Fundraiser for Startup Hub Honoring Liam Shrem

A fundraising event took place on Sunday evening at Reichman University to establish a startup hub named after Liam Shrem, who was tragically murdered on October 7 during the Nova party attack. The event was organized by Liam's mother, Simona Shrem, a veteran producer, who dedicated the evening to her late son. The gala was co-hosted by Israeli television personalities Galit Gutman and Ilanit Levy, with Gutman attending alongside her partner, Yigal Ahovi, who came to support her.

The event drew numerous Israeli celebrities, including Leah Griner, Sandra Ringler, actresses Gal Malka and Adi Himmelbleu, mentalist Lior Sushard, Maor Schweitzer, Meir Tamm, Moti Reif, and Sharon Adam, who is soon to marry singer Omer Adam. Liam Shrem, who was just shy of 26 years old, was a third-year business and entrepreneurship student at Reichman University. He attended the Nova party with two friends, Johnny Zaidman and Eili Baram, who were also killed in the attack.

In an interview with LaIsha magazine, Simona Shrem shared her deep bond with Liam, describing him as the "project of her life." She recounted how she devoted herself to providing him with freedom and opportunities, including buying him an apartment and enabling him to travel extensively. Despite personal challenges, her focus remained on supporting Liam's future.

The fundraiser aims to honor Liam's memory by creating a dedicated space for startups at Reichman University, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in his name. The event highlighted the community's solidarity and commitment to preserving Liam's legacy through this initiative.
