Two Arrested Over Theft From England World Cup Team Cars in the U.S.
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the theft of equipment from cars belonging to England’s national football team, as the squad moved from an early training base in Florida to Kansas City, Missouri, where it will set up its permanent World Cup base camp.
The English Football Association confirmed the theft to The Associated Press on Saturday, but said it could not provide further details because of an ongoing police investigation. Authorities said the incident took place at some point during Friday night.
Kansas City’s mayor said local, state and federal public safety agencies are working to determine where across the United States the stolen items were taken and to identify everyone involved.
