5.2 Magnitude Earthquake in Egypt Felt Across Southern and Central Israel

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Egypt early Monday morning, with a depth of 10 kilometers, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). Residents in southern and central Israel reported feeling the tremors, and some mobile phones received earthquake alerts. This event follows a similar earthquake in April, when a 4.5 magnitude tremor originating from southern Lebanon was felt strongly in northern Israel, including the Krayot, Acre, Nahariya, and Upper and Western Galilee areas. At that time, residents described moments of alarm as furniture and walls shook for several seconds. The April earthquake's epicenter was located between the cities of Tyre and Sidon, close to the Israeli border, according to EMSC data.
