Mbappe Promises a Flute Celebration if He Scores Against Senegal
Kylian Mbappe has promised an unusual celebration if France score in their World Cup opener against Senegal, which is still three days away. The 2026 World Cup has already begun, but France and its star forward are still waiting for their first match.
In an interview with James Corden on FOX, Corden asked Mbappe about his childhood, when he played the flute. Mbappe said he had really tried it, explaining that his parents wanted him to do many different things and broaden his horizons because “we never know what will happen.” He added that he played for a year or two and it was fun, but “I lost all my abilities.”
He then made the promise that drew attention: “If I score in the first game I will run into the stands and celebrate with a flute-playing celebration.” The comments came as anticipation builds for France’s opening match against Senegal at the 2026 World Cup.
