Lebanese President Condemns Israeli Airstrikes on Hezbollah Tunnels as Dangerous Escalation

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli Defense Forces' airstrikes on Hezbollah tunnel infrastructure in Bouffar, southern Lebanon, carried out the previous night. He described the powerful explosions as a highly dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the ongoing framework agreement process. The president accused Israel of targeting infrastructure and archaeological sites recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage sites. His office reported that the blasts caused an earthquake measuring 3.8 magnitude in southern Lebanon. Aoun characterized the strikes as a blatant violation of existing commitments and a severe escalation in regional tensions.
