Reservist Officer Course Graduation Faces Criticism Over Female Solo Singing

At the conclusion of a reservist officer course graduation ceremony held yesterday at Bahad 1 near Mitzpe Ramon, some participants expressed criticism regarding the inclusion of a female solo singing performance. One attendee told Channel 7 that about half of the participants were religious and that the female solo occurred at the very end of the event. She noted that no one left during the singing because it was the ceremony's conclusion and there were fewer people present, making it awkward to exit.

The organization Women Warriors for the Sanctity of the Camp, affiliated with Hotam, condemned the decision to include female singing, stating that observant families who traveled to Bahad 1 felt insulted by the conduct of the base commander and the Ground Forces. They emphasized that religious servicemembers, who make up half of the officer corps, and their lifestyles are being ignored in favor of progressive cultural trends. The group criticized the disrespectful attitude toward observant soldiers who already serve significantly and risk their lives, arguing that such treatment undermines efforts to recruit ultra-Orthodox soldiers.
