Likud Lawmaker and Defense Minister Push to Release Administrative Detainee Related to Parliamentary Advisor
A recent effort within the Likud party aims to secure the release of Tal Yinon Dradik, an administrative detainee. News 13 revealed on Thursday evening that Dradik is the brother of a parliamentary advisor to Likud MK Amit Halevi. Halevi has been a prominent advocate for Dradik's release, joined by other Knesset members and ministers, including Defense Minister Israel Katz, who leads the campaign.
In response, MK Halevi stated that since entering the Knesset three and a half years ago, he has consistently opposed administrative detentions and related orders. He expressed confidence that the public has followed his ongoing struggle against these measures.
This development highlights internal political efforts within Likud to address the controversial use of administrative detention in Israel, with senior party figures actively involved in seeking Dradik's freedom.
