Lebanon: Two Killed in Targeted Strike on Car in Sidon
Local media reported that at midday on Wednesday, a targeted airstrike was carried out against a vehicle in the center of the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon. According to the reports, the vehicle was hit by a missile launched from an unmanned aircraft, as passersby and local residents fled the scene following the powerful explosion heard in the area.
Numerous rescue teams were dispatched to the site to treat the wounded and extinguish the fire that engulfed the charred vehicle. Lebanese security officials confirmed that two people who were inside the car were killed in the strike, and that Lebanese security forces imposed a cordon around the scene to prevent gatherings. Although Israeli officials did not immediately respond to the incident, it was described as a significant targeted killing deep inside Lebanese territory, joining a series of similar vehicle strikes and targeted attacks carried out in recent months as part of the ongoing campaign along the northern border.
