Dushinsky Rebbe Appoints Son-in-Law as Chief Rabbi of Har Yona Community

The Dushinsky Hasidic community across Israel and especially residents of Har Yona in the Galilee region joyfully received the announcement that the Dushinsky Rebbe has appointed his eldest son-in-law, Rabbi Shmuel Zalman Shapira, as the chief rabbi of the Dushinsky community in Har Yona. This new Hasidic settlement currently includes over 100 families in its first phase, with an additional 200 families expected to join in the upcoming second and third phases of rapid construction.

The community features a Talmud Torah, a girls' school, kollels for married men, and other communal institutions, all expanding under the spiritual guidance of the Dushinsky Rebbe, who closely oversees the community’s development. Rabbi Shmuel Zalman Shapira, son of the renowned Rabbi Chaim Aryeh Shapira, head of the Etz Chaim Yeshiva in Belgium, and grandson of Rabbi Chaim Yosef David Weiss of Satmar Antwerp, was appointed last year as a halachic advisor within the Haredi community. He also serves as head of a rabbinical study program affiliated with the Dushinsky Hasidim and as a senior lecturer and spiritual mentor at the "Heichal Yehoshua" yeshiva.

The formal inauguration ceremony will take place next Wednesday, the 15th of Av, at the central synagogue in Har Yona, led by the Rebbe and attended by rabbis and judges from across Israel. Rabbi Shmuel Zalman will oversee all community affairs, including education for boys and girls and spiritual and public needs, strengthening the Dushinsky community and the broader Har Yona neighborhood.
