Israeli Media Personality Supports New Haredi City in Jordan Valley Near His Home
Israeli media figure Tal Luria expressed strong support on his X account for rumors about establishing a new Haredi city in the Jordan Valley near his residence. Drawing from his personal experience living near Beitar Illit, Luria highlighted significant civic and economic benefits of living close to a Haredi population. He cited improved public transportation with high frequency, discounted food and retail networks, accessible medical services, early childhood frameworks, and widespread emergency and medical responders as key advantages.
Luria explained that a dense population with strong purchasing power increases demand for services, benefiting all nearby residents. Addressing concerns about demographic or cultural changes, he emphasized that as long as the communities remain under separate local authorities, the mutual influences are mainly positive. He shared that during his time in Tzur Hadassah, many Haredi couples would visit the town for peaceful recreation.
He also stressed the strategic and ideological importance of increasing the Jewish presence in the Jordan Valley, calling it a region of great security significance. Luria concluded optimistically, noting that rumors of a new Haredi Hesder yeshiva in the area enhance his satisfaction with the development. He ended by saying, "In short, I got a bit carried away. Bottom line - I love living near Haredim."
