Fox Sports unveils its Manhattan World Cup viewing job, offering $50,000
Fox Sports is preparing for the 2026 World Cup, which begins next month in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and has created what it calls a dream job for many soccer fans. The American broadcaster is hiring a new “senior World Cup viewer” whose task is to watch every minute of the tournament from a room in a Manhattan tower and help find content for Fox Sports’ social media accounts.
The company has now revealed the viewing space inside the plaza. Executives said they are specifically looking for candidates who are less focused on soccer tactics and more generally interested in sports. “The goal is not to find someone who will analyze Brazil’s ball movement, but someone who will wonder why they have a player named Fred in the squad,” Fox said.
The salary is $50,000 for the selected person to watch all 104 matches. Fox says that works out to about $1,282 a day, $480 per match and $5.34 for every minute of play viewed. The article asks readers whether they would want the job.
