Liberman Warns Income Tax Could Rise 16% Without Universal Military Draft Law

Avigdor Liberman, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, stated at the Ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth National Security Conference, held in cooperation with the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), that individuals who do not enlist in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will be assigned to a civilian service track. He emphasized that those who refuse to serve will lose benefits such as disability allowances, property tax discounts, and daycare subsidies, and will also receive a criminal record. Liberman warned that if a universal military draft law is not enacted, all Israeli citizens will face an increase in income tax by at least 16%.
