Children's Star Ms. Rachel Sparks Controversy with Donation to Anti-Israel US Senate Candidate

Popular children's entertainer Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, has ignited controversy in the United States after donating $3,000 to the US Senate campaign of Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed from Michigan. Documents filed with the Federal Election Commission on July 19 reveal the financial support, though it is unclear whether it was a donation or a loan. El-Sayed has previously made sharp criticisms of Israel, labeling it a "rotten state" and accusing it of committing "genocide." He has also held campaign events with political influencer Hassan Pajouh, known for his contentious remarks about 9/11 and ultra-Orthodox Jews.

The donation has drawn sharp criticism from various figures, including plastic surgeon and reality TV star Sheela Nazarian, who called Ms. Rachel's decision "very disappointing" and questioned why someone who built a brand on kindness would legitimize antisemitic rhetoric. Samantha Central, spokesperson for the Senate Republicans' election committee, also condemned the move, warning parents to be concerned about the messages being conveyed to children. Ms. Rachel has not responded to requests for comment.
