Temple Institute Prepares Sacred Vessels for Third Temple in Jerusalem

The Temple Institute, established in 1984 in Jerusalem's Jewish Quarter by Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, has been operating for over 40 years with a deep belief that the construction of the Third Temple and the coming of the Messiah are imminent. The institute's researchers engage not only in theoretical study but also in spiritual and practical preparations for the Temple's rebuilding.

Their work focuses on three main areas: in-depth halachic research on Temple service laws, public education and awareness, and the actual crafting of Temple vessels, altars, and priestly garments. These items are made according to Jewish wisdom literature and strict halachic standards, with approval from expert rabbis.

In 2013, the Temple Institute opened the Temple Museum on its grounds, which includes a souvenir shop, an educational center for youth, and a bookstore publishing extensive research on the Temple and its vessels. The institute has recreated over 70 sacred vessels from original materials such as gold, silver, and copper, all deemed kosher and ready for immediate use in the future Temple.

Notable recreated items include the pure gold Menorah displayed in the Jewish Quarter, the Table of Showbread, the Altar of Incense, the Ark of the Covenant with cherubim, the copper laver, and the High Priest’s garments adorned with the Breastplate stones. Additionally, many portable service vessels like basins for blood collection, censers, silver trumpets, and musical instruments for the Levites have been produced.

The comprehensive work of the Temple Institute ensures that once the Third Temple is built, its service can commence without delay.
