Ben Caspit Says He No Longer Feels Ultra-Orthodox Jews Are His Brothers Amid Heated TV Debate

A heated confrontation occurred on Tuesday between Israeli journalists Ben Caspit and Yinon Magal during their joint program. The dispute was sparked by footage showing a former council member of Ganei Tikva expelling ultra-Orthodox men collecting charity on the eve of Tisha B'Av. Magal sharply criticized the former council member's actions, attributing them to incitement against the ultra-Orthodox community. He accused Caspit and others of fueling hatred toward ultra-Orthodox Jews, stating, "This is a person who watches Channel 12 and feeds on the venom that people like you stir up in hatred of the ultra-Orthodox. You prefer people who identify with Hamas over ultra-Orthodox Jews. This is where you have arrived." In response, Caspit said, "I understand the phrase 'you are my people but not my brothers.' I also no longer feel that the ultra-Orthodox are my brothers. Of course, they are Jews and Israelis, but that feeling is fading."
