Mexicana Celebrates 20 Years with Discounted Menu; Rebar Launches New High-Protein Drinks
Mexicana, a popular Mexican restaurant chain in Israel, is marking its 20th anniversary with a special promotional menu offering 20% discounts on select dishes. The chain, which started with a single branch on Bogroshov Street, has expanded to six locations nationwide. The celebratory menu includes a couple's deal featuring four wheat and four corn tortillas, three types of meat (barbacoa, pollo tinga, and chili con carne), various salsas, guacamole, pico de gallo, black beans, lime rice, and two drinks for 220 shekels, enough for three to four people. The meats are described as flavorful with a balanced spicy kick.
Meanwhile, Cafe Gan Sipur has introduced a new, indulgent menu coinciding with the summer vacation period. Highlights include a "croissant disk" replacing bread in several dishes, such as a rich egg salad and guacamole topped with a poached egg and arugula. Other new items include a round croissant with smoked salmon and honey drizzle, and an Italian-Jewish fusion dish combining ravioli and kreplach filled with potato, fried onion, and white pepper in a caramelized onion cream sauce. The cafe also offers unique shakes like the "Lion Shake," featuring whipped cream and strawberries.
In addition, the Rebar chain has expanded its summer menu with the POWER series, introducing three new protein shakes each containing over 30 grams of protein. Priced at 36 shekels, these shakes combine ricotta protein foam, fruits, peanut butter, oats, and protein crumble, available in peanut, cocoa, banana, and chocolate flavors. They cater to those seeking a nutritious yet indulgent option post-workout, as a light meal, or a refreshing summer break.
These food and drink innovations reflect ongoing trends in Israel's dining scene, blending flavor, nutrition, and convenience across multiple popular chains.
