Lebanese Army Deploys in First Pilot Zone Ahead of US Announcement and Presidential Visit

The Lebanese Army has deployed in the first pilot area north of the security zone as part of an agreement with Israel. This zone is one where the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not been stationed. Concurrently, preparations are underway for handing over a second area, currently occupied by the IDF, to Lebanese control. The United States is expected to officially announce the start of this pilot program on Sunday, ahead of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun's visit to Washington scheduled for Tuesday.
