Israeli Ministers and MKs to Join Massive March for Jewish Resettlement in Gaza Ahead of Elections
A large-scale march toward the Gaza Strip is scheduled for the upcoming Sunday, with dozens of Israeli ministers and senior Knesset members from the coalition announcing their participation. The event aims to promote the renewal of Jewish settlements in Gaza before the next elections. Thousands of Israelis, including bereaved families, war wounded, hundreds from the Gaza envelope communities, and settlement pioneers ready to move to Gaza lands, are expected to gather at the Yad Mordechai junction for the march under the slogan "Nissanit, Dugit, Eli Sinai - Now!"
Among the confirmed participants are ministers Nir Barkat, Bezalel Smotrich, Amichai Eliyahu, Amichai Shikli, Mai Golan, Idit Silman, Shlomo Karhi, and Deputy Minister Almog Cohen. They will be joined by Knesset members Ariel Kallner, Avichai Boaron, Amit Halevi, Moshe Pasal, Eli Dalal, Tzaga Malko, Hafif Abed, Limor Son Har-Melech, Simcha Rothman, Tzvi Sukkot, Ohad Tal, Michal Waldiger, and Moshe Solomon.
The march follows recent statements by senior officials: Prime Minister Netanyahu emphasized the need for action over talk, Defense Minister Yoav Kitz announced plans to establish three Nahal pioneer groups in the northern Gaza perimeter, and Minister Smotrich confirmed that settlement infrastructure and plans are ready. Minister of Diaspora Affairs Amichai Shikli stated, "With God's help, we will see the establishment of settlements in Gaza before the elections, putting a seal on the perimeter."
Smotrich called on the public to join the march and settlement efforts to create a real security belt for residents of Sderot and Gaza envelope communities. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir highlighted the symbolic date of July 19 and expressed the desire to "return home to Gaza." Other ministers, including Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi, Environment Minister Idit Silman, Social Equality Minister Mai Golan, Negev and Galilee Minister Itzhak Vissarlof, and Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu, voiced strong support for the initiative.
Daniela Weiss, chair of the "Nahala" settlement movement, emphasized the alignment between political declarations and on-the-ground activity, noting that the march will unite the public, elected officials, bereaved families, and Gaza envelope residents to renew Jewish settlement in Gaza, starting with the northern perimeter. Reserve Captain Eliran Nahum, a Gaza envelope resident and member of the "Pioneers of Gaza" core group, recounted his experience defending the area and called for immediate action to establish a strong Jewish presence in Gaza as the only path to security and victory. Over 1,300 families in settlement cores demand the start of the northern perimeter settlement and urge public support for Israel’s future.
