Knesset Approves Maintaining Full 32-Month Mandatory Military Service

The Knesset has approved in its second and third readings an amendment to the Security Service Law, ensuring that mandatory military service will not be shortened and will continue to last 32 months. The proposal, known as Amendment 29 and a temporary provision, received the support of 43 members of Knesset, while 12 opposed and some abstained. This decision confirms the continuation of the current length of compulsory service for Israeli conscripts.
